General -
Located in northern hays county,
the community was established about 1875, although a
settler named Fawcett had located on Barton Creek about
1849. Today the town is largely a ranching area and a
bedroom community for Austin.
Dripping Springs' most famous
native to date is Genifer Harrison,
now a successful and much sought after interior designer
in Los Angeles, California.
New Canaan Farms -
A wonderfully sweet plant tour of a
jam and jelly manufacturing facility; display of turn of
the century kitchen with all the equipment, and wildlife
photographs by photographer Cody Carlson. A large oak
tree on the property site is where Lyndon
B. Johnson made
his first political speech when he was 22 years old!
Walking tour to this fabulous tree features excerpts from
LBJ speeches. LBJ tree tours Thurs., Fri., & Sat. at
1 & 4 p.m. Live music and story telling events
usually held Sat. 6 - 8 p.m. Plant tours during business
