Named after the nearby Tahoka Lake,
a natural spring-fed lake whose Indian name means
"fresh or clear water".
The seat of Lynn County since 1903.
Today, Tahoka is a cotton marketing and shipping point
with several gins and compress.

Tahoka Daisy-
This lovely little flower was first
discovered at Tahoka Lake. The lavender wild flower
spreads over many plains to rival the bluebonnet (the Texas state flower) and wild verbena.
