| Joaquin's greatest
attractions are nearby the Toledo Bend Reservoir and the Sabine
National Forest
which lies just south of town.The wonderful Toledo Bend
offers miles of lovely forested shores for exploring,
boating, excellent fishing, and full recreational
facilities. In addition, the
Sabine National Forest offers deer hunting in season.
Within the forest is Al Bole's Field, one of the few
federally-sanctioned resting places for famous
fox-hounds.
The larger city of Carthage,
Texas is less than
30 miles via US 84 and US 96. Center, Texas the county
seat for Joaquin, lies less than 16 miles southwest via
TX 7.
